Shaklee dietary supplement formulations are based on published, peer-reviewed data supporting their efficacy, safety and actual benefit to the consumer by providing guaranteed amounts of health supporting nutrients.
Mona Vie provides no such substantiation, and instead relies on engaging stories and anecdotes to market the product. There is not a single reference to a trial involving Mona Vie showing its benefits.
While the product is purported to provide many nutrients, there are no amounts listed. The only published measure of benefit is the product's ORAC value, which we've seen at various distributor websites at between just over 1,000 to just over 1,100. About 5 ounces of ordinary orange juice or 5 ounces of red grapes would provide roughly the same ORAC value. For comparison, a single serving of Shaklee FlavoMax has an ORAC value of 5,508.
In our opinion, Mona Vie is an expensive way to get the nutrients found in traditional and much less expensive juices like orange, grape, and apple. For the consumer who desires guaranteed amounts of nutrients known to benefit health and prevent chronic diseases, Shaklee supplements are the way to go.
